Dr. Stone:
Today, I flew with Dr. Leavitt to Piedmont. We flew in by helicopter, and had to wear big plastic suits so we wouldn't get infected. Before we could land, we had to kill off birds that were eating the dead bodies so they wouldn't transmit the disease to other places. When we could finally drop into the town, it was horrible. There were dead bodies all over the streets, and there were a bunch of them. We looked around for the satellite, and we finally found it.
The satellite was in the town doctor's house. He had opened it with a chisel, which we believe started the spread of the infection. When we inspected his dead body, we found something very strange. All of the blood had completely coagulated. This means that all of the blood in his body had completely hardened into a solid. We searched other houses, and in one we found a man that had shot himself in the head, but there was no blood anywhere in the room.
